Death of Paulina Pariona Quimiche

Paulina Pariona Quimiche was a leader of the Comunidad Campesina or peasant association in Ayacucho who held the position of Member of the Board of Directors. She was assassinated in 1991 during the period of intensified political violence in the region. Her death is part of the systematic offensive against social leaders, particularly women leaders of grassroots organizations, that took place during that period.
