Death of Zenaida Vilcamiche Llactahuamán
Zenaida Vilcamiche Llactahuamán, a member of the board of directors of a peasant community in Ayacucho, was murdered in 1991, allegedly by Rondas de autodefensa or the PCP-SL.
Zenaida Vilcamiche Llactahuamán was a leader of the Comunidad Campesina or peasant association in Ayacucho who held the position of Member of the Board of Directors. She was assassinated in 1991 during the period of political violence in Peru. According to CVR records, the alleged perpetrators of her death were the Rondas de autodefensa or PCP-SL (Shining Path). Her case is part of the registry of women leaders killed and/or disappeared during the Peruvian internal armed conflict.
