Attacks in Vinchos
On December 20, 1990, a contingent of the PCP-SL attacked the facilities of Empresa Minera Vinchos in the district of Pallanchacra, carrying out multiple attacks against the infrastructure and killing two engineers: Superintendent Carpio and Administrator Edgard Quispe.
In the early morning of December 20, 1990, a large contingent of subversives of the PCP-SL entered Vinchos, where a Mineral Concentrator of the Vinchos Mining Company was located. The militants carried out several attacks against the Concentrator Plant, the mill, the high tension towers, the board, dump trucks and company cars. During the raid, they looted the 'Mercantil' and killed the Superintendent and the shift manager of the mine, engineers Carpio and Edgard Quispe respectively. This attack was part of the PCP-SL's strategy of attacking mining companies and institutions in and around the city of Cerro de Pasco.
