Incursion in Pacaysapa
MRTA raid in Pacaysapa on November 3, 1990, as part of the military actions of the Northeastern Front during a period of expansion and strengthening of the organization in San Martin.
On November 3, 1990, the Tupacamarista Army of the Northeastern Front of the MRTA raided Pacaysapa. This action was part of a series of spectacular military operations carried out by the MRTA during 1990, when the Northeastern Front had managed to reconstitute itself and expand significantly, reaching five hundred combatants distributed in eight zones of control. The incursion in Pacaysapa took place in a context of MRTA military strengthening in San Martin, two days before another incursion in Nueva Cajamarca on November 5.
