Murder of students Edson Espinoza and Angel Luis Huaynate
Two Pedagogy students were tortured and executed
Angel Luis Huaynate, a student of Pedagogy, was found dead with signs of torture: burns on one cheek, hands tied, eyes covered with green bandage, gunshot wound in the heart and two more wounds in the head. Edson Espinoza Tueros, a 5th year student of Pedagogy, died with him. The events were attributed to the MRTA but it was known that the Army used to blame subversive groups for its actions.
