Sexual violations in the community of Huamanmarca

Between the end of October and the beginning of November 1990, unknown men wearing ski masks entered the community of Huamanmarca and took people from their homes. The women were separated from the group of men and raped. The perpetrators singled out young women in particular, locking them in the school where they raped them. This attack was part of a pattern of systematic sexual violence against peasant women during the internal armed conflict.
