Murder of Ciro Aramburu Villanueva

Ciro Aramburu Villanueva, head of University Welfare at the San Cristobal de Huamanga National University, was shot and killed by combined forces of the Peruvian Army and the Peruvian National Police who entered his home on July 24, 1990.

On July 24, 1990, combined forces of the Peruvian Army and the Peruvian National Police entered Ciro Aramburu Villanueva's house and shot him to death. Aramburu Villanueva was the head of University Welfare at the San Cristobal de Huamanga National University. The operation was carried out by members of both State security institutions. This assassination occurred in a context of intense political violence in Ayacucho and counter-subversive operations.
