Attack on Azángaro market

On July 10, 1990, the PCP-Sendero Luminoso attacked the Azángaro market, resulting in the death of 5 people. This attack was part of a series of violent actions by the PCP-SL in the province of Azángaro that same day.

On July 10, 1990, the PCP-Sendero Luminoso attacked the Azángaro market in the department of Puno. During this attack, 5 people were killed. This attack occurred on the same day that the PCP-SL also attacked the SAIS Sollocota in Azángaro, where 7 peasants were killed. These attacks were part of the PCP-SL's campaign of violence in the highland provinces of Puno during the period of intensification of the internal armed conflict.
