Annihilation of the Provincial Prosecutor in Pampas

On July 3, 1990, three PCP-SL subversives assassinated the Provincial Prosecutor in the town of Pampas, province of Tayacaja, department of Huancavelica. This selective assassination occurred in the context of the PCP-SL's national offensive in 1990, when the death toll increased significantly in the provinces of Tayacaja and Churcampa. The attack was part of a series of assassinations against authorities and alleged collaborators of the military that the PCP-SL carried out in the area. Days earlier, on June 15, 1990, the subversives had assassinated the governor of the district of La Merced under the same accusation of collaboration with the forces of law and order.
