Capture of PCP-SL documents by GEIN

The GEIN captured key PCP-SL documents (maps, military reports, plans) between June and September 1990, managing to dismantle 80% of the Shining Path propaganda department. This finding was crucial for future operations against the PCP-SL leadership.

Between June and September 1990, the Special Intelligence Group (GEIN) of DIRCOTE made significant progress in the fight against the PCP-Sendero Luminoso. For the first time they reached a real trail that included documents, maps, reports on military actions and plans that would later lead to the capture of the Shining Path leadership. In the short term, this operation allowed the capture between June and September of 80% of the propaganda department of the PCP-SL. This discovery of documents represented a turning point in the intelligence operations against the terrorist organization.
