Incursion in Bellavista
MRTA raid in the town of Bellavista, San Martin, on May 18, 1990, as part of the Northeastern Front's operations in the Central Huallaga region.
The MRTA carried out an incursion into the town of Bellavista as part of its military actions during 1990. This incursion was part of a series of operations by the Northeastern Front (FNO) that included takeovers and attacks on police posts in various localities in the department of San Martin. The action took place in the context of MRTA's territorial consolidation in the region, specifically in the Central Huallaga area where the Alcides Reátegui detachment operated. By August 1990, the FNO had managed to significantly increase its operational capacity, reaching a total of five hundred combatants distributed in eight control zones.
