The Armed and Police Forces guaranteed the holding of the April and June 1990 presidential elections in almost all voting centers in the central region, in a context of political violence.

The Armed and Police Forces guaranteed that these elections were held in almost all the voting centers in the region, despite the context of political violence in the area. These elections took place in the midst of the active presence of the PCP-SL and the MRTA in several provinces of Junin, Pasco and Huanuco.
