Assassination of the industrial relations manager of Tejidos La Unión by the PCP-SL.
On March 20, 1990, the PCP-SL assassinated Joel Podestá, industrial relations manager of Tejidos La Unión, the largest textile factory in the country. This assassination was part of the Shining Path campaign to eliminate officials of this strategic company on the Central Highway.
