Third meeting of communities of Alto and Bajo Cunas in March 1990 where Sector Presidents of Ronda were designated for Quero, Jarpa, Chambará and Yanacancha as part of the organization of Self-Defense Committees against the PCP-SL.
In March 1990, the third meeting of communities of Alto and Bajo Cunas was held to organize resistance against the PCP-SL. At this meeting, the Sector Presidents of Ronda de Quero, Jarpa, Chambará and Yanacancha were appointed. This meeting was part of a process of organizing Self-Defense Committees that had begun in December 1989, when Felix Damian Huaynalaya, president of the peasant community of Quero, urged to organize the defense against the assassinations of November 9 and 10, 1989. The process continued with a second meeting in February 1990 that incorporated representatives from Chala Alta and San Pedro de Sulcán.
