Call for censure of Interior Minister from Geneva
Congressman Manuel Piqueras Luna asked the UN in Geneva to censure Interior Minister Agustin Mantilla Campos for his probable links to the Rodrigo Franco Command.
From Geneva, Switzerland, and before the UN Commission on Human Rights, the Izquierda Unida deputy Manuel Piqueras Luna requested that the Chamber of Deputies censure the Minister of the Interior, Agustín Mantilla Campos. The censure request was based on the minister's probable link with the Comando Rodrigo Franco, a paramilitary group. This denunciation was made in the international context of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights. Congressman Piqueras had been part of the commission investigating paramilitary groups in the Peruvian Congress.
