Hiking excursion in Marayniyoc

Shining Path surprise raid in Marayniyoc that caused the death of four ronderos and the president of the community. The attack occurred in the context of the organization of peasant patrols against the PCP-SL in Tulumayo.

On February 2, 1990, in the community of Marayniyoc, there was a surprise Shining Path incursion that resulted in the death of several ronderos and community authorities. The fallen ronderos were Bernardino Parado, Felipe Sosa, Erquinio Sosa and Avelino Salazar. Feliciano Suárez, who was president of the community, was also killed. This attack occurred in the context of the confrontations between the recently organized peasant patrols and the PCP-Sendero Luminoso detachments in the Tulumayo area.
