MRTA assassinates General López Albújar in reprisal for Molinos
General (r) Enrique López Albújar Trint, former Minister of Defense of Alan García's government, was ambushed by three guerrillas who riddled him with bullets while he was driving his car without the members of his personal security. According to Victor Polay Campos, it was an agreement and decision of a revolutionary tribunal in response to the killing of prisoners and the repassing of wounded and MRTA combatants in Los Molinos. Such action deserved the unanimous condemnation of broad and diverse social and political sectors of the country.
