Extraordinary Legislature called by the Executive

Extraordinary legislature of the Peruvian Congress called by the Executive between January 5 and 19, 1990 to debate and approve bills on the decentralization process.

The Executive Branch called for an extraordinary session of Congress, which took place from January 5 to 19, 1990. The main objective of this extraordinary session was to debate and approve bills related to the country's decentralization process. This call was made in a complex political context, during the last months of Alan García Pérez's government, in the midst of an electoral process and with the intensification of terrorist actions in the country.
