Forced recruitment of 14-year-old brother by MRTA
MRTA forcibly recruited a 14-year-old boy and murdered another who tried to escape in Pariahuanca.
The MRTA forcibly recruited the 14-year-old brother of one affiant, along with other children from the village aged 15, 16 and 17. They promised to pay around 200 soles a month but never delivered. When one young man tried to escape, they beat him badly and when they caught up with him during another escape attempt, they killed him. The subversives threatened saying 'if you escape anywhere we will find you, it is better that you fight with us'.
