Detention and threat of rape in Ayacucho
Woman detained in Ayacucho on December 26, 1989 was threatened with rape, undressed and forced to sign documents under torture at DINCOTE.
One informant was detained on December 26, 1989 in the district of Ayacucho. During her detention she was taken to a room in the DINCOTE where she was interrogated and beaten. The perpetrators undressed her, threw her on the floor and threatened to rape her. Under this pressure and threats, they forced her to sign several papers. The witness says that they were unable to carry out the rape due to her poor physical condition, but she was subjected to psychological and physical torture during the interrogation.
