Disappearance of two community members in Usibamba

Two Usibamba community members were violently taken from their homes in the early morning of December 5, 1989 by an armed group that identified itself as MRTA, and their whereabouts are unknown to this day.

In the early morning of December 5, 1989, an armed group that identified itself as belonging to the MRTA entered the Usibamba annex. Two community members were violently taken from their homes and disappeared. This operation followed the same pattern used in other localities in the area, where armed groups used the counter-subversive alibi of identifying themselves as MRTA. As of the date of the report, the whereabouts of the victims are unknown.
