Assassinations of elected authorities in Azángaro and Melgar

Between November 29 and December 3, 1989, twelve people, mostly IU members, were murdered in the districts of Azángaro and Melgar. From candidates and elected authorities, the persecution extends to communal authorities. In the community of Choquepiñas, three authorities were lost in addition to the governor.
