Kidnapping and murder of four peasant leaders in San Blas

Four peasant leaders from the annex of San Blas, Chambará, were kidnapped and killed with shots to the head by presumed Shining Path members in the Chorrillos area. On the same day, a 'popular trial' was held in San Blas that ended with the murder of the president of the community.

On November 11, 1989, four peasant leaders from the annex of San Blas, district of Chambará, in Bajo Cunas, were kidnapped by presumed Shining Pathists and killed with shots to the head when they arrived at Chorrillos. This happened two days after the PCP-SL took over the town of Quero killing four villagers on November 9 and 10. The same day of the kidnapping, in the annex of San Blas, the subversives congregated the community in the State School for Minors, carrying out a 'popular trial' that concluded with the murder of Vidal Paredes Ballasco, president of the Community. Another group of hikers simultaneously raided the Angasmayo annex and killed an engineer named Maraví who worked on the Coyllor Project and the owner of the only restaurant in the area.
