PCP-SL assassinates Inés Lazo Alvarado in Misquipata
On November 4, 1989, the PCP-SL assassinated Ines Lazo Alvarado in Misquipata, the wife of a policeman, as part of a campaign of intimidation against relatives of members of law enforcement in the Alto Cunas area.
On November 4, 1989, in Misquipata, San Juan de Jarpa district, the PCP-SL murdered Inés Lazo Alvarado, who was the wife of policeman Mamerto Melgar Pomahuali. This murder was part of a series of violent actions by the PCP-SL against relatives of policemen and authorities in the Alto Cunas area. On the same day, in Accac Bellavista, the PCP-SL also murdered Antonia López, mother-in-law, wife and daughter of another policeman, Bartolomé Cerrón. These targeted assassinations were intended to intimidate law enforcement and those who collaborated with them in the region.
