Murders in Misquipata

On November 4, 1989, the Shining Path PCP murdered a policeman's wife in Misquipata, as part of a wave of violence against relatives of authorities and members of law enforcement in Junin.

On November 4, 1989, a column of the Shining Path PCP raided Misquipata, in the context of a wave of violence that hit the region during the month of November, considered the bloodiest of that year in the area. In this attack, the PCP-SL killed the wife of a policeman. This was part of a systematic strategy of the subversive organization to attack relatives of members of law enforcement and local authorities in order to spread terror in the communities. The same day, in Accac Bellavista, they also murdered the wife, mother-in-law and three-year-old daughter of another policeman, demonstrating the brutality of the campaign of violence.
