Murder of five community members in Huancavelica

On November 2, 1989, Army troops killed five community members in Huancavelica after calling them by roll call and locking them in a community house.

On November 2, 1989, an Army patrol surrounded a community in Huancavelica and forced the villagers out of their homes. They then called five community members by roll call: Román Quispe Camayo, Overto Macha Solano, Nicolás Reyes Pariona, Simeón Clemente Salvatierra and Filemón Clemente Madueño. These five men were locked in a house in the community and murdered. This event is part of a pattern of indiscriminate repression by law enforcement in the area during this period.
