PCP-SL march in Manco Capac square that ended in confrontation with the police, leaving three dead. The event occurred in the context of the intensification of subversive actions in Lima.
On November 1, 1989, the PCP-Sendero Luminoso held a march in Manco Capac Square in Lima. During the event, there was a violent confrontation with police forces. As a result of the confrontation, three people lost their lives. This event was part of the most intense period of Shining Path violence in Metropolitan Lima, when the subversive group sought to consolidate its presence in the popular sectors of the capital as part of its strategy of "encircling the city".
