Murder of engineer and landowner in Angasmayo

On November 11, 1989, the PCP-SL murdered a Coyllor Project engineer named Maraví and the owner of the only restaurant in Angasmayo, as part of a wave of violence in the Bajo Cunas area.

On November 11, 1989, in the annex of Angasmayo, district of Chambará, a group of hikers raided the town. During this action, they murdered an engineer named Maraví, who worked on the Coyllor Project, and the owner of the only restaurant in the area. This occurred on the same day that the PCP-SL carried out multiple assassinations in the Bajo Cunas area, including the San Blas annex where they carried out a 'people's trial'. The assassinations were part of a systematic campaign to eliminate authorities and people considered enemies by the PCP-SL in the region.
