Bus held up and 7 people killed in Cami

The PCP-SL held a bus of the Cajatambo Provincial Council in Cami and killed seven people: two civilians and five Republican Guards.

In October 1989, the PCP-SL held up the Cajatambo Provincial Council bus in the town of Cami, on the way up to Cajatambo. After imprisoning all the passengers, the hikers proceeded to assassinate seven people: two civilians and five Republican Guardsmen. This attack was one of the most daring and with the greatest repercussions in the region during that period, together with the ambush in Rajanya where 6 policemen were killed.
