Attack on Huaripampa police post

On June 16, 1989, the Shining Path PCP attacked the Huaripampa police post in the province of Junin. During the attack, two policemen and the local parish priest were killed. This attack was part of a series of violent actions that multiplied during the second half of 1989 in the central region of the country, including sabotage and armed propaganda. The attack on Huaripampa was one of several attacks on police posts that the PCP-SL carried out in the area during that period.
