Attack with explosives against the Húsares de Junín escort

At 12:40 in the afternoon, members of the PCP-SL exploded a 10 to 12 kg charge of dynamite under an Army bus that was transporting the Húsares de Junín Escort Regiment from the 'Barbones' barracks to the Government Palace. The attack was carefully planned: first they stole a white Volkswagen cab, then they used it to block the passage of the bus on Jiron Junin. A person on a tricycle handed a package to two subjects who ignited the explosive charge, placed it in a wheelbarrow and rolled it under the military vehicle. The explosion caused 6 dead and 25 seriously injured military personnel.
