Assassination of student leader Jorge Munguía Crisóstomo
Student leader opposing the PCP-SL was executed on the road to Satipo
Jorge Munguía Crisóstomo, leader of the JCP and member of the student federation, an active opponent of the PCP-SL, was assassinated while traveling to Satipo. A Shining Path column pulled him out of the car and executed him. He had previously denounced that he had been assaulted and threatened with death by people from the PCP-SL. The University Council never dealt with the issue or made a pronouncement.
