Confrontation in Los Molinos and subsequent arrests
Army soldiers detained residents after anti-subversive confrontation, resulting in 7 missing persons
Between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m. on the morning of April 28, 1989, Army soldiers intervened residents and passers-by in the Coriac neighborhood of the district of Huertas, province of Jauja, in the vicinity of Pampa Puihuán where an anti-subversive confrontation had taken place. The soldiers extracted people from their homes and detained others who were traveling along the Jauja-Molinos road. The detainees were taken to the Teodoro Peñalosa Barracks by truck and helicopter. Seven people went missing after these arrests.
