PCP-SL kills Municipal Agent and security guard in Chaquicocha

The PCP-SL assassinated a Municipal Agent and a watchman of the Production Unit in the Chaquicocha plaza on April 5, 1989. This attack was part of a campaign to eliminate local authorities in the Alto Cunas area.

On April 5, 1989, the Shining Path guerrillas murdered a Municipal Agent and a watchman of the Production Unit in the town square of Chaquicocha. This attack was part of a systematic campaign by the PCP-SL against local authorities and SAIS workers in the Alto Cunas area. The event occurred in the context of the destruction of associative enterprises and the elimination of authorities who opposed the advance of the Shining Path in the region. Subsequently, on May 10 of the same year, the armed Shining Path column returned to Chaquicocha and killed 10 community members, among them several authorities, and set fire to vehicles.
