Failed MRTA operation in Tarma ends in massacre of surrendered guerrillas
The MRTA tried to take the city of Tarma in an operation that ended in the Molinos massacre. The Army's review of surrendered guerrillas showed the MRTA that for the forces of order there were no good and bad subversives. The operation had been planned to respond to the strong blow represented by the capture of their leader Victor Polay in Huancayo at the beginning of the year.
