PCP-SL attack destroys Uchiza police post
The PCP-SL destroyed the Uchiza police post with the support of the local population and drug traffickers, causing the death of 10 policemen. The attack generated an interpellation of the ministerial cabinet in Congress.
On March 27, 1989, the PCP-SL carried out an attack on the Uchiza police post that resulted in its complete destruction. The attack was supported by the people of Uchiza in combination with drug traffickers in the area. As a result of the attack, 10 policemen were killed. This event was subsequently the subject of an interpellation of the Villanueva cabinet before the Chamber of Deputies on April 26, where they had to respond on the Uchiza case along with other issues of economic crisis and subversion.
