PCP-SL seizes Hacienda Colpa and kills livestock

PCP-SL militants took over Hacienda Colpa on February 2, 1989, killing 157 sheep and 6 cattle with knives, wounding another 10 animals and taking 8 cattle.

On February 2, 1989, PCP-SL militants took over the Colpa farm in Junin. During this raid, the hikers knifed to death 157 sheep and 6 cattle. In addition, they wounded another 10 animals and took 8 cattle. This attack was part of the systematic strategy of the PCP-SL to destroy the productive units of the Agrarian Societies of Social Interest (SAIS) in the region. The action was part of the Shining Path offensive against the livestock infrastructure and associative enterprises in the Cunas area.
