Murder of 10 peasants in Santa Rosa de Pachaclla
Ten peasants, presumably Shining Path supporters, were killed in the community of Santa Rosa de Pachaclla in February 1989, during the period of intensified political violence in Junín.
In February 1989, ten peasants were killed in the community of Santa Rosa de Pachaclla. According to the CVR report, the victims were identified as presumed Shining Path members. This event occurred in the context of the expansion of political violence in the Junin region, during a period of intense activity by both the PCP-Sendero Luminoso and the forces of law and order. The assassination took place in the same month that Victor Polay Campos, military chief of the MRTA, was captured in Huancayo.
