Murder of 9 children during captivity
Shining Path killed 9 children of a family due to illness during retreats in Satipo.
A mother says that the Shining Path killed her 9 children during captivity. The children got sick because they did not eat well, everything was measured and in small portions, without salt or oil, only nettle and other herbs. When the hikers ordered a 'retreat', the children who could not walk were left last and the hikers who came behind would kill them, hang them and leave them lying around like animals. They killed every sick person and child with a rope and knife, usually because of anemia and hunger.
