Formation of the Carretera Central Struggle Committee in 1989
PCP-SL promoted the Central Highway Struggle Committee in 1989, controlling USE of Ate Vitarte.
In 1989, the PCP-SL managed to promote the Committee of Struggle of the class-conscious workers of the Central Highway, in coordination with Puka Llaqta and the UNIR-Bolchevique. This allowed it to control the USE of Ate Vitarte. The Carretera Central was an area closely linked to the university, whose infrastructure was used as an area of refuge and storage of materials, in open dispute with the other partisan groups.
