Massacre of San José de Secce
On 20 May 1983, approximately eighty campesinos from the community of San José de Secce were kidnapped and subsequently murdered. Witnesses reported that the perpetrators were dressed in military uniforms. This event was part of a series of violent incidents during a period of political unrest in Peru.
