Kidnapping and Murder of David Ballón
David Ballón was kidnapped by members of the MRTA while driving in Surquillo, Lima. The kidnappers demanded a ransom from his family, but negotiations failed. Five months after his abduction, Ballón was tortured and murdered, and his body was found in San Miguel, Lima.
